Getting Started with Photoshop
Open Photoshop
Photoshop can be downloaded and installed as a standalone software or inside Adobe Creative Cloud. Your computer needs Photoshop to create and edit raster graphics. To install Photoshop as a standalone, open the file you downloaded.
We recommend uninstalling Photoshop before upgrading your computer as new versions of Photoshop sometimes contain new pre-installed software.
Once installed, you will need to update Photoshop by running the Photoshop installer.
Start by selecting Photoshop from the Programs menu. You will then need to click on the Install button on the top-right.
This will begin the installer process. When it’s done, click on the ‘Finished’ button to close the installer window and close all other windows.
Examine Photoshop’s Important Files
Before you can use Photoshop, you need to examine the files in the Photoshop folder.
If you open Photoshop and double-click on the file, Photoshop will open in the most recent state, as it was when you last closed the application. You will need to click on File > Save or press Ctrl+S in order to save changes.
On Windows, you may also need to click on File > Save As to save the files in a different location and name.
I use Windows 10, so I find it easiest to select Open from the File menu in order to open the documents in the Photoshop folder. This will also ensure that the open document will be the most recent state.
In order to keep files in the Photoshop folder organized, each file is identified by a sequential letter or number, such as a.psd file.
Copy files to other locations
Often, you will have more than one copy of Photoshop installed on your computer.
You may be able to locate the Photoshop folder at C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop\Photoshop.
If you’re not sure where the Photoshop folder is, search your computer by typing “Photoshop” in your search bar.
If you opened Photoshop from a link in your e-mail or any website, it is common to open the folder that Photoshop was downloaded to as the default

You can edit a PSD file by default in Elements. But you can also open a Photoshop file, convert it to a PSD file, edit and save the changes.
You can also create a new document from a PSD file by dragging and dropping the file into a new document.
If you drag a Photoshop file into the folder of a Photoshop Elements file, Photoshop Elements will open the file.
You can import Adobe Photoshop files into Photoshop Elements without converting them to a different file type.

Reconstructing FFT and Inverse FFT for DFT

thanks for the replies. Maybe I was not precise enough with my question.
I can easily reconstruct the FFT from DFT when I have the coefficients. (This is actually the case when I go through this chapter and the exercises). The case I care about is when I have the frequency bins, obtained from DFT. As I see it:
1) First case: I have the coefficients in px, but not the absolute values of the coefficients, i.e. the amplitude.
2) Second case: I have the amplitudes, so I can compute the inverse FFT and reconstruct the FFT. I don’t know if the amplitudes correspond to a spectrum, but if they do then this is easy.
I have the question is: should I re-label the coefficients using “relative” values (I don’t know the amplitude), or should I write that the coefficient in px have x absolute value (so that the sum is equal to 1)?

The FFT doesn’t care what units you’re using for your time domain signal so you shouldn’t be using relative units in your frequency domain.
From the Direct Formulation of the DFT and Inverse DFT:
