How do I get started with Photoshop?
Learn how to use Photoshop step by step using the tutorials on this website. They are short tutorials that provide a foundation of editing, color correction, and effects in Photoshop and allow users to learn how to accomplish basic tasks while also making them more familiar with the program.
Many of the tutorials are also rated in difficulty. Review the ratings before completing any tutorial to see which ones you are able to take on first.
To add to the challenge, some of the tutorials come with videos for walkthroughs. This means you get a chance to see what a user is doing step by step and to better understand what tasks you are being asked to perform.
If you are having trouble completing a tutorial, you can get help with the online community that has many users with similar problems and can’t be found anywhere else.
If you have any questions about the tutorials, feel free to post them in the forums of the Photoshop tutorials and get answers from others who have already completed the tutorials.
What should I start with?
The tutorials start with basic edits that enable you to become familiar with the program. Even though Photoshop’s interface is intuitive to use, going through the tutorials will show you how to do all the basics with the controls. It is a good way to learn and practice.
Most tutorials will recommend starting with Photoshop Elements (Photoshop with the “Elements” menu added) as a stepping stone to get you used to the program.
However, even after getting familiar with Photoshop, it is still useful to learn the basics in Photoshop. You can get an introduction to Photoshop via the Learn to Photoshop tutorials and practice on your own.
Can I work in Photoshop with just a Mac?
Yes. Photoshop is available for both Mac OS X and Windows, but only one version is available for each operating system.
Most tutorials assume a Mac. If you are running the Windows version of Photoshop, it is recommended that you use a virtual machine to run the tutorial. Then, when you are finished, you can close the virtual machine.

Question: what are the difference between (1 2 3) and (1..3)?
The difference between them is that the (1..3) is a variable list of 3 elements. (1 2 3) is a single element list.
You can think of a variable list as a list in which the element is itself an unevaluated list, which might be expanded to many elements if necessary.
