Having used GIMP for a long time, I’m comfortable with the program and don’t really want to learn a new software. So, I used the Photoshop Elements download to replace my older version of Photoshop. Once I installed it, I decided that I really liked the new program, and I wanted to learn it as well. So I decided to crack it. Crack Adobe Photoshop, you might ask? I got this with the Creative Cloud a few months ago and I really like it because it allows me to access everything as far as adobe materials and Lightroom are concerned. It’s become easier to work with my photos because everything is in one place! I don’t miss using Adobe Elements, even though I still use it as well, I just find Lightroom to be easier to use for me when working with photos than Elements.

Earlier versions of Adobe Photoshop gave you the option of customizing the layout in the Workspace. In the new version, you need to rely more on the presets. That means that you may decide to put the tools on the canvas in locations that are not ideal. Or maybe you operate with an organization that has all similar tool panels, say, in the File menu; so you are possibly looking for a way to replace that panel with a customizable one. In either case, the workaround is to simply delete the panel that you want to change: go to the Preferences > Workspace > Presets and you can find the panel you want to change. You can then either put the tools wherever you want them – or delete them.

The bad news is that we’re unlikely to see any significant changes to this tool until version 9. Until then, we can enjoy Lightroom 5 only as a work-around for a few defects. What really motivated me to write this article is the full 64-bit support which is currently only available for Mac OS X. 64-bit support was originally planned for Windows OS users as well, but Apple locked it out, only providing 32-bit support. I’m not a fan of this move and I’m sure that Apple’s decision is only one of the reasons why there are fewer and fewer computer users installing 32-bit products and operating systems. It’s a shame that we are left with some workarounds such as dumping the 32-bit folders, etc. in the system’s Program Files (“Program Files (x86)” for 32-bit applications when running a 64-bit version of Windows. To me, this means that we’re forced into having to use either the latest Windows version or to run 32-bit applications. To Adobe, I say that they should give us all access to a 64-bit version of Photoshop, as well as the other graphics application suites. I will be really happy if one day I can just pick up the latest versions of Illustrator, InDesign, Muse, Dreamweaver, etc., and run them right away without worrying about any compatibility issues. Don’t get me wrong, I totally support Adobe working on a 64-bit version for Windows. It will be a good thing for Photoshop, Premiere Pro and other software that requires the latest 64-bit features.
