Well, Photo is still on the good old Files. Now it’s way better and actually a big improvement over Photoshop Elements 4. Without exception. Elements had way too many shortcomings, which are nothing but it’s still a million times better than all photoshop stuff before then, and in my opinion Elements 5 is the last thing photoshop should have become.
Can’t wait for cs6… if it’s the doom of creative suite I’ll eat my hat. Regards.

First, I’m a little envious of someone using Elements. I have had a copy since CS4, and I still can’t get Photoshop to work in a way that works for me. That said, I love how much power and full-featured features it has. The new beta CS6 has created quite a bit of shuffling in my workflow of how I use the software (and the software has made some changes, too), but it remains an incredible powerhouse and not something I want to leave. I love the new features. I love that you can use photoshop to touch up all your photos. I love the loupe. I love the advanced masking and the GUI. I love adding presets to my build-in lens. I absolutely love Lightroom and Elements together. I think of Elements as the icing on the cake, and Lightroom as the whole cake. I would never trade them for anything, and I still use all 3 of them together, which is what I did with my first D750.

I’ve been a long-time user of Elements version 4.0. Now 5.0 barely seems to be keeping up with me. I find quite a few speed-ups, among other things. But I’ve also noticed a few OCD problems. For example, resizing text or an object containing text becomes a series of small boxes that are zoomed-in and out and connected to each other. As with any obsessive-compulsive type person, it can be extremely frustrating. I’m still experimenting with different programs, but I’m currently not concerned with moving to any other program until a few things are addressed. One is the capability to resize text to line-up perfectly, and the other is the ability to have exactly the number of characters I want. These goofy problems just get in the way of the power I’m seeing and want to use. Still, I love the program, and yet I’m looking for other alternatives.
