This game is a bit of an odd one. Upon booting it for the first time it crashes immediately with an error on a DVD ROM, causing the game to be unplayable (it does continuing work fine on WU). The DVD ROM incompatibility is confirmed with other Burnout games (non-Japan, UK and US). An uncorrected disc for TLC may work. Interface improvements and minor tweaking have been made to some of the games in the Burnout series, and this is one of them. However, it still contains much of the same problems as other Burnout games from before Burnout 2: Project Gotham Racing.

It is also worth noting that Burnout Revenge was only released in PAL territories. One difference between the Japanese and US versions of this game is that the scoring indicators in the arcade games appear on the standings page where the names of the players are displayed, rather than the race results screen.

Btw, I’ll look into the DLLs that may be used for peer-to-peer and online the local multiplayer stuff in Burnout Revenge and see if we can justify inserting GBN at the beginning of these. For the X-Plane including the cars would be easy as these don’t upload the player’s car to the server and grabbing the scaled down car would be as easy as the other engine’s car’s DLL

Say you’re playing an arcade and your graphics go into in-game mode. You can go into your Options game menu, select the graphics option, and edit the values. To remove Gold Bar from your car in edit mode, you simply remove the GorgeousGoldBar in the values. If you’re using the Burnout 3 engine, you won’t see any advantage here; you’ll need to edit the values manually.
